3/19: The seventh season of the Southeast Super Truck Series is about to kick off in high gear when on March 24th the series invades Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, SC. We would also like to welcome back out title sponsors Textron Off-Road, City Chevrolet, and Gripp Energy Drinks. The series is rolling off of what was one of the best seasons to date, however the 2018 season will definitely be even better with the debut of the Gripp Energy Limited Late Model Series this year. This new division is replacing the super stocks, as there is more interest in limited late model racing.
This season you will also see lots of new faces in both the Super Trucks and Limited Late Models. As well as your reigning champion Lee Tissot stepping down from a full time role in the series. Nashville, TN quarter midget stand out Chase Johnson will be trying his luck in the trucks. As well as your 2017 Super Stock Champion Ashton Higgins who will be moving up to the trucks. Florida’s INEX Legends hot shoe Taylor Hosford will be joining the trucks in a Mike Green/ Kenny Campbell prepared truck. Kenneth Headen will be ready to take on all the fierce competition and try to capture another championship. Jamie Barbrey your 2017 runner up will be back and “fully charged” hoping to capture the championship this season. Also Jimmy Roberts Jr, who had a horrific crash at Newport at the season finale race in 2016 and returned to the series last season and improved a lot, he will also be a driver to keep your eyes on.
Toby Hollifield who has also improved a tremendous amount the last season he bought a brand new truck mid season will not back down from the fight, Bennie Davis who is the senior veteran of the series and knows his way around most the tracks, always has that never give up attitude. Last season he had a horrible crash and rebuilt the truck with and showed back up better and stronger than ever. Rumors are that Ed Surrett will be coming out of semi retirement and re-joining the series this season, and if he shows up at the track he is always a threat to reckon with. Jeff Caldwell will be joining the series occasionally This is just a few drivers of a very strong list to mention.
The Gripp Energy Limited Late Model division is going to be great. Jonathan Flemming will be returning to the series this year as well as his wife and him expecting a new baby. Runner up in the points from this past season John Gallman, who claimed the first win of the season at his home track Anderson, he will also be a threat all season long. John Mamph who fought hard all season long and never backed down will also be returning this season in a new car ready to duke it out. This is just a few names to name, Come on out Saturday March 24th to see all fierce competition.
Other divisions running in addition to the Trucks and Limiteds will be Front Wheel Drives, INEX Legends, and BM Modifieds. Grandstands will open at 4:00 Pm, with Qualifying set to begin at 4:15, On-Track Autograph session from 5:10-5:40, and races kicking off at 6.
Come on out and catch the “Most Awesome Show On Wheels”!
