8/10:The SEST Limited Late Models has seen some high's and low's this season. With Kingsport Speedway
collecting a few of our drivers and then on to Tri-County Motor Speedway we lost a few engines a long
the way. The series headed to Anderson Motor Speedway for the sixth installment of the season. Yes
only a handful of cars showed up, but the talent behind the wheel of each car was set to be a show for
the fans. Driver of the #27 David Ball Construction Chevrolet Impala, Lee Tissot found himself where he
left off at Tri-County. He set the fast time for the first round of practice. They had one final round left
before qualifying and the race. Tanner Brookshire who pilots the #55 Silver's Auto Service Impala picked
up the pace and found himself on top of the charts during the final practice.
Qualifying was up for the drivers, it came down to a battle of the elder veterans of short track racing.
Ralph Carnes, driver of the #2 Campbell Tree Service Toyota Camry claimed the Renegade Race Fuels
Pole Award. Carnes would roll a four on the invert dice which now set multi-time winner at AMS in their
weekly Limited division of John Gallman to start the race in the captain's chair. The drivers lined up to get
the race underway. The #81 JWI Heating & Cooling Chevrolet of Gallman waited for the flag man to
throw the green flag.
Gallman focused on hitting his marks, and he took off out front of the field. Tissot began to work his way
towards the top spot on lap five, as he passed the #65 Blackbear Transmission of Josh Goble for
second. Gallman would stay out front for 13 laps of the race as he then caught pressure from Tissot, the
pair would race side by side. Tissot finally took over the top spot and would set sail over the rest of the
field. Meanwhile the battle for third began to heat up, as Carns found himself making a pass on Goble.
Carnes would slowly begin to reel down Gallman, they would race door to door for second. Carnes took
over second, bringing Goble with him.
With less than 30 laps to go, Brookshire caught up to Gallman working his way into the fourth position.
Tissot went on to capture his fourth victory of the year and close in on the points battle. The series will
head back to Tri-County Motor Speedway on August 24th in hopes of having all of the competition back
in full force. For more information please visit www.southeastsupertrucks.com or our social media
