The SEST Limited Late Models made the drive back down to Anderson Motor Speedway on August 22nd. The sixth stop of the season, as the Points Championships were starting to take shape, so was the competition on the track. Ashton Higgins and Justin Southerlin topped the speed charts for the first two practice rounds. Higgins would also go on to capture the Renegade Race Fuels Pole Award, he rolled a three on the invert dice which now set Ryan Howard on the top spot with Ralph Carnes on the outside. Carnes led the first five laps of the race, until Howard began to battle for the lead. Howard took over the top spot bringing Higgins with him on lap six. The first caution flew on lap as a chunk of asphalt came up and went through the radiator of Josh Gobles #65 Toyota Supra.
After a lengthy red flag to repair the track and a brief rain shower, the field was ready to roll again. Ryan Howard led the field back to the green, Carnes ducked in behind the #7 machine and decided to ride it out. However Higgins had other plans as he began to work his way past the veteran driver of Carnes. Higgins took over the second position now setting his sights on the leader. After several laps of watching Howard, Higgins made his move and took over the top spot for the first time. Higgins went on to lead the remaining laps of the race and capture his first win of the season with the series. Ralph Carnes, Ryan Howard, Justin Sorrow, and Charlie Watson rounded out the top five.
