Opened in 1985 as a dirt track before being converted to asphalt in 1988, Tri-County Motor Speedway has served as the unofficial home to the Southeast Super Trucks over the last several seasons with the
series being the sole entity to use the facility since the track suspended weekly racing operations in 2010.After a decade of sitting silent, it was announced in late 2019 that the track was purchased by Shane and Shad Higgins and weekly racing would return to the track starting in 2020.
Since taking ownership, the Higgins have made significant upgrades to the facility and have made it a rare example of a race track being revived after years of being dormant.
